Go Sunbathing To Cure Body AcneBy Joann Grant

There was a time when sun was believed to be the solution for acne and moms used to send their sons out to the tanning salons in order to get rid of acne. And they were right in doing so. It has been medically proved that sunbathing is a great help for acne problems. According to a study by the researchers at the University of California, changes in the level of Vitamin D3 control body’s immune response and help in healing the wounded skin.
Vitamin D3 has been found to be of immense help in protecting the skin against infection besides boosting the over all mechanism for repair. Its deficiency may harm your body’s immune system.
The best thing about Vitamin D is you get it naturally. You could get it from the sun which is 100 per cent free of cost and excellent source of vitamin D. According to a report, it has been proved that sunbathing is a great help in treating acne faster.
According to the research mentioned above, wounds produce an antimicrobial peptide called “cathelicidin”, which is required to control the bacterial overpopulation. This can be done with the help of Vitamin D, which can fight with cathelicidin. Macrophages, the white blood cells, are the focus of the research. These can identify the attacker and when the receptor senses the presence of bacteria, they trigger cathelicidin production.
Keratinocytes, the type of skin cells that are present around the wound are stimulated by the injury. This is done in order to raise the production of Vitamin D3, which, in turn, increases the expression of genes that detect microbes. Cathelicidin can be produced with the help of these genes along with active Vitamin D3, the deficiency of which may lead to more frequent infections in both humans and mice.
Therefore, you may go out sunbathing as a cure for body acne. However, do not overdo it because excess of sunshine is quite capable of harming you. Besides, it is also important that you consult you doctor before you go out to sunbathe, for some skins are more sensitive to sun than others. Therefore, having a medical opinion before you start on it may help you prevent the foreseeable damage.

Adult Acne Causes

Stop acne before you get it. This article discusses the causes of adult acne. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

What is the Cause of Adult Acne?By Arturo Ronzon

Almost one in five women belonging to the age bracket of 25 to 40 suffers from the irritating affliction, adult acne. Not only the females, but also about 25% of adult males have to face adult acne at some stage in their lives. Adult acne can be a chronic medical condition for patients who have suffered from pimples since adolescence. In other cases, some patients develop the condition only after they attain adulthood.
The acne that adults suffer from often starts out as blackheads – caused by accumulation of dirt and dead cells on the pores of the skin. These block the ducts from the sebaceous glands and attract bacteria. These accretions turn black in color on coming in contact with air. Then these blackheads swell up and turn red due to bacterial actions and form pimples. The medical term for this is ‘comedo’ – a buildup of fat, dead kin and keratin plugging the hair duct. The inflammations turn into pustules, also called whiteheads, if infected the touch of unclean hands. Such breakouts often cause the walls of the hair duct to rupture that leads to scarring of the skin. Often the pustules spread to the neck, back and the chest area and the condition is provoked by dandruff in the hair.
The most common causes of adult acne include stress, the use of inferior quality cosmetics, hormonal actions and the intake of birth control medicines. The oil glands are stimulated by excess stress and this causes overproduction of sebum. Application of substandard quality makeup can lead to bacterial infections. Abnormal secretion of the hormone androgen in females triggers the eruption of pustules. The contraceptive pills that women consume contain the hormone androgen that elevates the normal level of this hormone in the female system. This leads to the occurrence of acne.
However, some common misconceptions are prevalent as regards to adult acne. Consumption of cheese and chocolate has no effect on the eruption of adult acne.
The effect of outbreaks of adult acne is not just a blemished complexion; it can have far reaching effect on the psychological health of the patient. The most common effect is anxiety before a job interview or ceremonies like wedding. The resurgence of their teenage embarrassment can lead to a low self esteem, and the resultant stress further aggravates the symptoms. The products that help reduce the breakouts in teenage life are not effective in case of adult acne. Some over the counter medications are available for topical solution of the problem. However, a patient suffering from adult acne should do best to seek the help of a qualified dermatologist, apart from maintaining cleanliness and personal hygiene.

Your Immune System May Help You Reduce The Spread Of Acne

The problem of acne is relatively less among those who havea strong immune system. Mainly this is because the body does not allow bacteria to thrive on dead cells or on sebum that may clog skin pores. The immune system sends white blood cells anytime there is a gathering of harmful bacteria. These cells destroy the bacteria enabling the skin’s health to return. Basically, this is how the immune system reduces spread of acne .

Two lines of defense are present in our body. The skin is the first line of defense against infections . It works as a physical barrier and prevents the entry of the microorganisms into the body. Lymphocytes, antibodies, T-cells, phagocytes and memory cells are the second line ofdefense

Usually, acne is caused by acne vulgaris, a skin bacteria that is normally found on the surface of the skin. During hormonal imbalance and when excessive oil production block skin pores, the bacteria residing in the skin start producing toxic material, erupting in the form of acne.

Though acne may occur in any part of the body, it is more commonly seen on the face, shoulders and back in the form of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and pustules. Yellowish pus observed in pimples and pustules is a collection of dead skin cells, and toxic by products produced by the bacteria. Acne usually tends to become worse when there is a case of secondary infection, leading to the formation of acne cysts and nodules.

Left alone, acne is harmless. It takes around three to four days for an acne pimple or pustule to naturally dry out and die. Unfortunately, scratching or pinching delays the process of healing, and can also lead to the formation of scars.

The healthy immune system ensures quick healing and prevents further infection. Medical studies have shown that zinc supplements boost the immune system, prevent scarring and check frequent outbreaks of acne.

When the skin is healthy, it automatically resists infection from bacterial and fungal microorganisms. Minor cuts and bruises provide a passage for the entry of microorganisms, and increase the incidence of acne infections.

The strong immune system helps in controlling the excess stimulation of hormones and release of oil from sebaceous glands. It also improves the texture and the skin tone. That is why a healthy skin is less susceptible to acne.

A strong immune system is largely dependent on lifestyle and eating habits. A good common sense well-balanced eating regimen and regular good exercise will go a long ways to strenthening the immune system, thereby helping to rid that plague of acne!

Which Acne Blemish Treatment Really Works? by Andrew Kotler

Acne comes with a great deal of responsibility. The truth is you have to do your research. You must obtain the required knowledge to make informed decisions about treating your acne.

Acne can make life hard when you are surrounded by people who have flawless skin. And trying to find the right acne blemish treatment products can prove to be a real headache - not to mention a big, never-ending expense.

In order to get the clearer skin you want, you will need to take action. Take control of your acne treatment needs and make clearer skin a reality.

Acne blemish treatment products are not only based on one type of product. They are interlinked and therefore require a routine usage. The best acne blemish treatment products are those that you can buy in a series because they will treat all of the problems acne creates in steps.

You need clean skin and unplugged pores before you can begin to effectively treat acne. And these "series" acne solutions will do exactly that for you.

You just need to know which acne treatment series is right for you.

By using the series on a regular basis, you will be guaranteed to know whether they are the right product for you or whether you need to change.

There are no short cuts when it comes to acne treatment.

Actually being successful with your acne regimen requires a significant amount of dedication on your part. You will need to get on a regular regimen that includes a face wash, cleanser, and day and night creams.

If you have these products, make sure you give them a fighting chance. There is no sense in spending all of that money for a product, only to use it once and then jump to the next product. You must actually give it a chance by following the directions and waiting for results.

Conversely, if you have been using the same product for weeks without avail, stop and try something else. Try a different series every 2-3 weeks until you find the right one for your skin. Once you find that, stick to your regimen and never waiver.

I don't recommend using harsh treatments or drugs in acne treatment, but if you are inclined that direction, here are some things to consider. Enjoy the article.

Effective Acne Treatments for Teenagers by Dave Lavinsky

Acne affects virtually all teenagers at one point or another, to varying degrees. Teen acne is hereditary and is brought on by hormonal changes related to menstrual periods, pregnancy, birth control pills, or stress; oily hair and skin products; certain drugs such as steroids, testosterone, estrogen, and phenytoin; and high levels of humidity or sweating. While acne attacks boys and girls alike, it is worse in boys because they produce more skin oils. However, girls are more likely to seek out a dermatologist. Either way, fear not: everywhere you look, there is another teen acne treatment to be found.

There are many over-the-counter acne treatments for teenagers to unblock pores, reduce bacteria and dry out pimples. They contain benzoyl peroxide (such as Neutrogena On-The-Spot) or salicylic acid (such as Stri-dex). For more effective yet harsher treatment, there is sulfur or resorcinol (such as Clearasil Adult Care). Acne responds best when treated early.

All acne treatments work by preventing new breakouts, and must be used over a period of weeks or months. Even if you begin to see improvement, continue treatment. Follow the directions on the package or as prescribed by your dermatologist.

Even more numerous than over-the-counter medications are prescription drugs and topicals that curb oil build-up, skin cell shedding and bacteria growth - all while drying and peeling away old acne and stimulating healthy skin growth. In cases of unresponsive or severe acne, isotretinoin (Accutane) may be used. Talk to your dermatologist to find out what is appropriate for your case of acne.

To avoid scarring, you should never pick or squeeze acne, especially inflammatory acne or "pustules". Squeezing forces infected material deeper into the skin, causing additional inflammation and possible scarring. Also, avoid scrubbing your skin. If you do get scars, acne scar treatment is available in many forms.

Here is some basic information about different kinds of acne treatment. Hopefully it will give you some ideas of where to start.

How Do Acne Treatment Products Work? by Andrew Kotler

There are many solutions and acne treatment products on the market.

Each is provides unique services to the acne sufferer; however, very few people who purchase acne treatment products know what they actually do--and most don't care, as long as they treat the skin.

But this is very vital information to know, so that you actually understand that the acne treatment product you purchased is one that will be good for your type of acne needs.

Taking a closer look at what these acne treatment products do, you will be better informed in your future acne treatment purchases.

There are few common forms of acne treatment products; and you can find most of them in a number of different acne brands. The more important ones are the following: face wash, cleanser, and day and night creams.

Facial acne is known for being rather oily; and this oil catches all the dust particles in the air. Face washes are designed to fix this exact problem. Face washes remove all the surface dirt and grime.

This face wash helps you prepare for the next step in your acne treatment regimen: cleanser.

Since clogged pores and bacteria are also the cause of acne, the cleanser acne treatment product is the next thing you will use. This helps open the pores and kill the bacteria. It also removes excess oil from your face, especially in the t-zone which is the most commonly oily place on the face.

Then depending on what time of day it is, you can use a day and or night cream. This is required to nourish the skin and help protect it and prevent further outbreaks. Just because you have oily skin does not mean that you cannot use moisturizer on your face. Moisturizer can often be an excellent complement to your regimen.

Here are some good ideas to help you prevent acne and maybe at least understand what you are dealing with a little bit better.

Practicing A Proactive Acne Treatment
by: Mark Woodcock

Having acne can be a miserable experience to have to endure. It can be physically and emotionally painful and embarrassing. It can cause feelings of isolation, low-self esteem, even depression. Acne affects nearly everyone at some point in his or her life, whether it's during puberty, pregnancy (or during some other hormonally-charged period in life), or just during any time of adulthood. But there are ways to prevent and even control acne if you take a preemptive approach. The best way to counteract the effects of this skin problem is to carry out a proactive acne treatment, which will help you to take care of your body as well as your skin.

Proactive is defined as acting in advance of an expected problem, or to be anticipatory. If you know that you are prone to acne, anticipating the problem and taking steps to defend yourself against it is the best way to go. There are several proactive acne treatment measures that a person can take in order to reduce the amount of breakouts, and to keep the breakouts that do occur from being too bad. One of the best ways to deal with acne is through exercise.

Exercise is not only a great way to regulate your weight and keep your body in good physical condition, but it also helps to lower stress levels that can cause or aggravate acne. In addition, sweating is a way of cleaning out the body, ridding it of oils and bad bacteria. It is important, though, to wear lightweight, breathable fabrics when exercising. Perspiration that is trapped between fabric and the skin can let bacteria grow and clog the pores, which will lead to acne.

Another effective proactive acne treatment is through diet. Though it is commonly understood now that what you eat does not cause acne, it is also commonly known that certain vitamins and minerals help the body fight the war on acne. It is a good idea to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, B, C, and E. This will not only give you a healthy body, but will help to curb breakouts. In addition, drinking plenty of water will help keep your skin looking fresh, and your color bright.

Stress has an immense effect on a person's complexion. We wear our problems on our faces, in the form of dark circles, wrinkles, and yes, even acne. There are a variety of stressors that affect us in different ways. Stressors are things that cause anxiety to your body and your well-being, which can also cause or aggravate an acne problem. Certain external stressors involve things that negatively affect the outside of your body, and include such things as oil-ridden cosmetics, overexposure to the sun, and a poor diet.

Internal stressors include factors that cause anxiety, depression, or low self esteem. Not dealing with emotions or high stress levels can cause acne flare-ups or other outward indications of inward problems. As mentioned before, exercise is an ideal way to manage stress. Also, participating in activities that you enjoy can also reduce your stress levels. And, don't forget to get an abundance of sleep if at all possible. Sleep provides your mind and body time to rest and rejuvenate.

There are several acne treatments that you can perform that, if done on a regular basis, prove to be highly effective, proactive measures. For example, always try to use oil-free cosmetics that won't clog your pores. Shaving the skin with a light touch and a sharp razor or even an electric shaver helps to exfoliate the skin and won't be too rough on skin that is broken out. It is best, though to avoid areas of the skin that are especially irritated or infected, and allow them time to heal. Also, make sure to gently wash your face twice daily with lightly exfoliating products. Do not ever scrub the skin, for this can lead to further irritation and more acne problems.

Taking the proactive approach to acne treatment is by far the best way to avoid embarrassing or painful breakouts. And you will find in doing so, that you will not only have healthier looking skin, but that your body and general well-being will be healthier in the effort as well.

Your Preferred Acne Treatment?

I have looked at information on a lot of different acne treatments, and from what I have read and my own experience, I would be very skeptical about prescription or over the counter acne treatments. The best acne treatments are more along the line of proper eating habits, cleanliness, the use of natural treatments, and just plain common sense. I am not a doctor, so cannot offer medical advice according to the FDA, but just use common sense. Here is an article that may give you some good ideas.

What Is Home Acne Treatment? by Jeff Little

Many people suffer from acne and that is why there are so many acne treatment products available in the market. These products try to help acne suffers get the clear skin that they want without spending too much money.

There are also many surgical acne treatments, but these procedures often cost considerably more than even a year's worth of home treatment.

The natural option for most people is to have home acne treatment. The myth about home acne treatment that might make people reconsider using it is that it is not as effective as medical treatment. The truth, however, is that acne treatment products only work if you have the dedication to make them work.

Home acne treatment is not uncommon. It is what most people do on a day-to-day basis; and those committed to the work are rewarded with great success. Home acne treatment is about taking charge.

You make a routine based on the products you have, and if you are persistent, then your reward will be a clearer skin. It is all about adopting the right kind of attitude towards your acne treatment. You have to put in the work in order for home acne treatment to be a success.

Doing everyday things, such as washing, cleansing and maintaining your skin is part of the responsibility of having home acne treatment. Changing your diet and opting for a more acne clearing lifestyle will only be to your benefit.

There is just so much expensive acne treatment process can do for you. But if you do not adhere to the advice in this article, the whole easy solution will fail and you will be bitterly disappointed with the results. So be smart, patient, and diligent and you will get that clear skin you want so badly.

This lady used to have a bad case of acne and she tells the story of how she was able to clear it up with a special acne treatment. You will find this very informative.

Despair to Delight - Acne Free Skin in Weeks
My Story

What I am going to share with you is my personal story of how I achieved acne free skin from spotted, horrible looking skin. I will show you my 'before and after' photographs and you will see the difference yourself.

Who am I?

I am Elisha Timble, age 27. Ever since I started the teens I've had problems with acne. I started developing little spots and pimples here and there. Slowly they gave way to big painful swollen bumps some of which turned into a big zits. I used to get these zits about once a month on average. The small ones were a constant trouble.

These zits were a source of great agony and embarrassment. Imagine a big pimple right on the tip of your nose surrounded by many smaller ones. It was so depressing that I would avoid meeting people and stopped playing with my friends fearing they would joke about how I looked.

Acne Scar Treatment and Actors

I was reading an article about an actress and how important her facial features are to her success. Surely she avoided acne problems with acne treatment -- the best acne treatment she could find -- if she had acne problems as a youngster. Following is a description of this lady.

LOOK at the dark-haired, voluptuous, broad-featured girl in actor-turned-artist Aaron Blabey's paintings and he'll invariably explain that you are looking at a portrait of his wife.Except that she "no longer looks remotely like my wife", who happens to be blonde, petite and rather more delicately beautiful.
